Doonaree Pipe Band

The Doonaree Pipe band was officially incorporated in the State of Illinois on May 25th, 1993, and was granted 501 (c) non-profit status by the Federal Government on October 14th, 1994.  The band is based out of Lockport, IL, but practices are held at the Orland Park Cultural Center.

Doonaree is a member of the Midwest Pipe Band Association. At present we compete in grade V through the Midwest and Internationally.  We have been awarded Champion Supreme by the Association twice, and are working to advance to a higher grade of competition.

Doonaree always welcomes anyone interested in piping or drumming to become students.  Lessons are given free of charge.  Being part of a pipe band is a fun and meaningful pastime for people of all ages.  All of our current members, with two exceptions, began their pipe band careers with Doonaree, and the band welcomes additional experienced pipers and drummers who are looking for a group to play with.
